USA Playground Sender Session

The USA Playground is a dirt pit located just off campus right in the middle of the cross country mountain bike trail. Sender’s can usually be found sessioning the spot on any given day.

This Saturday the trail was particularly lonely, possibly because the police were blocking the trail parking lot for the football game. Nonetheless, a few senders had made the trip over from Mississippi to ride, and lack of parking wasn’t going to stop them.

It seems like everyone wants to send it these days, from kids to grandpas, so who’s to say no? There’s a rush you get when you send your bike off a steep drop or over a big gap. It’s this rush that keeps the senders coming back for more.

Upon arrival, the two of us, were met with an older gentleman and a young boy. They were riding the best mountain bikes Walmart had to offer. After watching us send it a few times they followed suit and were eager to get involved.

After a little coaching, Brennon, dropped into the pit, and captured some GoPro footage for us. We toggled between spots with the clamp-on mount and managed to get some decent video of our Sender Session.

Before all was said and done, we all got to session some good dirt and send the dirt jumps at the USA Playground.

I was able to reshape the lip on the road gap jump and send it. Rolling down the ridge and droping in sets you up perfect for this gap and then a big step-up. With a little more dialing in, you’ll have the speed to clear the step-up and launch back into the pit.
